About Matchsticks for my Eyes
Welcome! This site is about stories, in all their forms – games, books, anime, movies, TV – and the joy they can engender. I plan to focus more on commentary, analysis, and “reflection”-type posts, more on spotlighting things that are interesting or cool, and less on news, although you will see all types of content. I hope you have fun!
What I play: Most genres, but with a focus on strategy games, Western RPGs, and JRPGs.
What I read: Largely science fiction and fantasy, with a little historical fiction from time to time. I look for strong plotting, vivid characters, imaginative and detailed worldbuilding, themes that will leave me thinking afterwards, and clean, clear prose.

Matchsticks for my Eyes is written by Peter Sahui. If a good story is a journey into its world, then I have been privileged to travel through as many worlds of wonder as I have: I’ve been playing games since 1990, reading since at least that time, and watching anime since 2003. I hope that by sharing some of the stories I’ve experienced, you’ll want to stay up with matchsticks of your own.
